In September, the British-Australian Society hosted the “Great Debate” in the beautiful Old Hall at Lincoln’s Inn.

The topic “Is Australia Still the Lucky Country” attracted a full house and we enjoyed a hugely entertaining and stimulating discussion amongst our panellists – Andrew Low, Australian British Chamber of Commerce Chair, Will Kingston, Spectator journalist and the host of podcast “Fire at Will”, and Elizabeth Ames, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Australian Studies Institute at King’s College.

The discussion was vigorous and expertly moderated by Sir Clive Cowdery, Chair of Resolution Life and publisher of Prospect magazine. Panellist Andrew Low is the author of the recently published book, “We Should Be So Lucky – Why the Australian Way Works” which provided the impetus for the discussion.

Video recorded and produced by Andrew Grill, board member of the Britain-Australia Society.
