World-leading AI expert Andrew Grill opened day two of the Withers Global Partners Conference in Barcelona with a live test of how digitally curious the room really was.
This was backed by a bespoke AI readiness survey that drew responses from partners across the firm.
His message was practical. AI slices tasks out of white-collar jobs, so the winners are the lawyers who automate the repeatable, data-rich work and hold on to judgement, trust and empathy. Using Withers colleagues’ own stories, from reviewing disclosure documents to an in-house eDisclosure AI project, he showed that tools the firm already owns can change outcomes.
He also tackled the hard questions: how to handle clients who check advice with AI, what to do with the time AI gives back, and how to train the next generation of lawyers.
The session closed with a 30/60/90 day plan and an open Q&A on everything from superintelligence to confidentiality and sustainability.
Andrew then joined each division for a working session on AI adoption.
