With the news that the latest victim of email hoaxer “Sinon Reborn” is the UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd (also responsible for cyber security), it brings into question the role of the employee in the “last mile” of cyber defences.
No matter how strong your company or personal firewall is, the weakest link is still a human who can fall prey to these tricks as Amber Rudd did. We need to educate our teams properly on cybersecurity, not just about being alert for phishing attacks, but also being acutely aware of digital security as a whole.
