Today in the Ask The Actionable Futurist series we look at the issue of technology addiction.

At the recent Mercer Roadshow in London, during the Q&A I was asked “Will technology develop to solve the issue it has created (technology addiction)?”

In my 2 minute answer below, I explain how the creators of the major social networks will not allow their children to use them because they know how Oxytocin and Dopamine are released into the body as a result of the actions they designed into these networks.

I explain how in the near future we may start to see health warnings on devices to warn us of their addictive properties. I do provide an answer to the question – watch to the end.

This was another example of having to think on my feet. By deeply understanding the areas I cover in my talks, I was able to provide a concise answer to this question and many others.

Can technology be used to help with tech addiction?
