The need for critical thinking in the age of AI

The need for critical thinking in the age of AI

From the first moment I spoke about AI systems on stage many years ago, the question has always been, “will we lose our jobs?”. Watch me address this issue at the AIPC Annual Conference in Luxembourg, where I discussed the need to teach Critical Thinking in schools. I also alluded to the work I’ve been doing with the amazing Speakers for Schools organisation in the UK for the last seven years.

Generative AI systems such as ChatGPT are like an “enthusiastic always-on intern” who can provide unlimited research and drafts to help you.

If we all use ChatGPT to write copy, then we’re going to have a lot of average-looking articles out there. To leverage AI, we need to use it for research and then apply our own critical thinking.

Are you promoting critical thinking in your organisation?
