What role are portals and marketplaces playing in the current landscape, and why is it essential to always consider APIs with a consumption mindset?
On 7th April 2022, IT and digital leaders in utilities came together at The Drift Bar, London for a masterclass luncheon on the topic: “Getting APIs to work: Switching to a consumption mindset”, as part of the Ortus Club sponsored by Axway.
Andrew moderated the panel of API experts:
and invited questions from the audience around the following themes:
• How can leaders get to a product mindset for APIs to conceive and design each API as a digital building block?
• How do organisations ensure that they can leverage APls produced anywhere instead of staying with a centralised model?
• What role are portals and marketplaces playing in the current landscape, and why is it essential to always consider APIs with a consumption mindset?
The event’s overarching theme was how do we drive consumption for Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and start to look at them as a type of product that can be managed and monetised.
It was a very niche topic, and the team at The Ortus Club delivered an engaged and very curious audience of leaders from the Banking, Finance, Energy, and Logistic sectors representing business and technology functions.
For me, the sign of a great networking event is when guests stay long past the event end time to network and chat, which was certainly the case yesterday.
