Engineers Australia – Pushing the Reset Button

  • 29 July 2020

Andrew Grill joined fellow Engineer James Bunn to discuss how Engineers can solve any problem on a webinar broadcast live on 29 July 2020.

The world at the moment seems to be in a state of constant turmoil. How can Engineers respond to the current crisis, and stay resilient? In many ways, we need to “push the reset button”. Engineers are well-equipped to solve any problem from first principles. We have asked two veteran Engineers from different disciplines to look at five separate periods in recent history where we have been faced with similar needs to push the reset button.

James and Andrew looked at five key inflexion points in global events such as 1990’s Recession, 9/11 and the 2001 Tech Crash, the 2008 GFC, Brexit and Covid-19 and explain how Engineers are uniquely equipped to survive any downturn.
